A Bit About Us

Once upon a time, there were two unlikely partners Cheers and Smith. Though they were opposites in every possible way, together they were unstoppable. Cheers was the life of the room, always the first to spark a conversation, connect ideas, and rally a group around a shared vision. She thrived on energy, ideas, and the magic of collaboration. Smith, on the other hand, was the quiet mastermind, the one with a meticulous plan, the sharp focus, and the steady hand that turned big dreams into real accomplishments. Together, they created Cheers & Smith, a space that brings out the best of both worlds. Whether you're a free-spirited thinker looking to bounce ideas around or a focused builder who just wants to get things done, this is where you belong.

Made in Stockport

Cheers and Smith first met on the streets of Stockport, one bustling with creativity, the other rich with history and industry. Cheers was drawn to the local cafés, the indie shops, and the art scene. Smith? Well. Smith admired the grit, the old mills, and the thriving businesses that have
stood the test of time. Together, they saw potential, a town with a creative heart and a serious work ethic.

A Piece of History

Originally built in 1909 as Secondary School for Girls, this beautiful feature-full building is being brought back to life as the first workspace for Cheers & Smith and friends. Spacious classrooms, parquet floors, blackboards, and other original features have been preserved to respect the stories this Grade II listing has to tell.

During World War I, the school was requisitioned by the War Office and converted into a military hospital.

After the war, the building resumed its educational role in the community and formed part of Stockport College.
Following the college’s relocation, the building remained vacant for a time before being embraced by Stopford Park, ensuring its rightful place in the future fabric of Stockport.

  • What types of apartments are available?

    We have a limited collection of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments to buy in our Bosden building in Stopford Park. And a range of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments to rent in our Torkington and Lyme buildings in Stopford Park.

  • When will the apartments in Bosden be available to reserve?

    Our first release will be in Autumn 2025. The best way to make sure you’re first to hear is to join the waitlist and the team will be in touch.

  • Will the apartments in Bosden be available to buy or rent?

    All 62 apartments in Bosden at Stopford Park are for sale only. If you’ve not hopped onto the property ladder this could be your time. If you want to get into Stockport, now is definitely the time.

  • When will the apartments to rent be available?

    Apartments to rent will be in our Torkington and Lyme buildings. We’re due to release our first apartments to rent in Torkington in Winter 2026.

  • Can I have a look around?

    Show apartments are due to be open from early 2026. If you’re on the waitlist we’ll be sure to invite you to the opening for a first look.
