October 23rd 2026

Dubbed ‘Spectacular Sunday’, a huge street party is set to take place in Stockport’s town centre this November.

Expect festive bands, giant puppets, street performers and much more, with hundreds of performers to take to the streets in more than 50 free live shows, with the event’s grand finale alone involving over 100 drummers.

The ‘Spectacular Sunday’ event will be returning for the fourth time on Sunday 15 November, with free performances taking place throughout the day.

The performance will be scattered throughout Market Place, the Underbanks, Merseyway, Redrock and Suffragette Square, while the programme of events is expected to last from 12-5pm.

Organised by a joint partnership of Stockport Council, Totally Stockport, Merseyway Shopping Centre and Stockport Market, entertainment will be taking place around every corner you turn.

Some of the highlights this year include a giant snow lion, a circus adventure into space and the world’s smallest nightclub.

This year’s event will also coincide with the town’s Christmas lights switch-on which is due to take place at 4:45pm on the day.
