Stockport buses set for longer routes and later services

August 26th 2026

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is expanding its bus services across Stopford, making it easier to get around the borough and adding 24-hour buses between Stockport and Manchester on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Ubers are expensive, we get it! Especially when you leave your favourite venue and surge charges are taking a journey that should be £15 up into the high £20s, so instead of forking out for a taxi home after a night out in Manchester, the 192 is back, bigger and better than ever! Trips home from town will cost as little as £2, no matter how late it is, Thursday to Saturday.

The changes come alongside the expansion of several bus routes across the town, making it easier than ever to get around Stockport. The new services are set to launch throughout September.

These include:

The new ‘192’ Thursday night bus between Stockport Town Centre and Manchester City Centre commencing as of the 3 September, adding to the 24/7 Friday and Saturday buses

An additional ‘377’ service which will run between Stockport town centre and Woodford Garden Village from 1 September

A re-route of the ‘368’ in early 2027 which will better connect Stockport, Wythenshaw and Manchester Airport

There will also be changes to the 378 and 379 services (Stockport to Cheadle Hulme circular) from 30 August, which will better connect these areas.
