New community festival set to take place at Stopford House

Stopford House Party, is coming the town on Sunday 12 August, bringing people together to celebrate creativity, culture and wellbeing  

Starting from 12pm-6pm in the Brutalist civic square, residents, businesses and community groups alike are invited to join the fun and build better connections. 

Activities include everything from ceramic tile and Brutalist life drawing to designing and printing Stockport postcards and flower arranging. 

Alongside the workshops, the festival will host a series of live acts, with folk, jazz and chilled music helping to create the perfect backdrop for the event. The event will also celebrate the newly refreshed gardens in the square, helping to showcase this unique public space at the heart of Stockport with stalls from your favourite Stopford brands. 

Already confirmed, Where the Light Gets In and Auntie Lou’s will both be providing their famous hot sandwiches and fresh salads, whilst Neighbourhood Brewery will  serve up an extensive selection of lagers, IPAs, sours and stouts.  

SK1 Records will have a pop-up record shop, there’s a mini Greenhouse Books’ library, decor from Merseyway ceramics, Vintage accessories and locally sourced honey from Cheshire Honey.  

Taking place in Stopford House which previously featured as a police station in “Life on Mars,” it will be the perfect backdrop for a must attend community event and we’ll be there on the day to say hello to.
