Mercury climbing set to go out with a bang this Saturday

September 25th 2026

Indie festival Mercury Climbing has been providing music and art in the heart of Stockport all week.

With more than 40 artists taking part across the ten-day festival, there’s been plenty to enjoy… and there’s still more to come. The festival is set to wrap up this Saturday with a very special back-to-back DJ set from Clint Boon and Chris Hawkins at St Mary’s Church, where the pair will be spinning iconic indie tunes. ]

The festival’s diverse line-up has brought together an exciting mix of established names and emerging talent, including Scottish post-punk band The Twilight Sad, Manchester-based singer-songwriter BC Camplight, rock duo The Lovely Eggs and indie favourites The Orielles, alongside many more artists who have been performing throughout the festival.

One of the highlights was Merch Market D.I.Y. last Saturday, which saw Stockport Market transformed into a bustling hub of independent music and creativity. The event featured a huge collection of stalls, with bands given free spaces to sell their own merchandise, allowing them to keep 100% of the profits.

It was a chance for fans to meet some of their favourite artists, pick up exclusive merch and show their support for the grassroots music scene, all while live DJs provided the soundtrack throughout the day.
