Famous New Orleans beignets come to Stockport… along with many more of Louisiana’s best-loved treats

July 24th 2026

Bloom Care and Wellness is a new cafe that has opened on Castle Street serving up authentic New Orleans cuisine, including the famous Beignets seen in the Princess and the Frog.

And when we say authentic… we mean authentic. The founder Alicia has very recently moved over to Stopford from Louisiana and is shipping over genuine New Orleans products to use in her food. Packed with herbs and spices you can’t find anywhere else in the UK; this café is bringing flavours that are genuinely one of a kind.

Open from 8am till 7pm, Tuesday to Sunday, Alicia and her team will be serving up classic Seafood boils with different mixes of shrimp, crab and lobster; crispy, seasoned chicken sandwiches, and hearty Gumbo stew, to name a few.

As you’d expect from a Louisiana joint, the menu is incredibly diverse, with dishes like yakamein, a tender beef broth known as the New Orleans “old sober” soup, delicious cajun crawfish loaded fries, alongside a rotating menu of Deep South specials that change every week.

The place may only been open a couple of weeks, but it’s already been inundated with raving reviews about its incredible food. Jake McNicholl said that the “menu is completely different to anywhere else around Stockport,” and Mr. Werk described it as “rich, comforting, and now a new favourite,” with Dawn adding that the “music in here makes it a great vibe to be around too.”
