Blossoms’ love letter to Stockport

August 28th 2026

Blossoms have dropped their latest single, featuring indie-pop star Declan McKenna, with the accompanying music video filmed aboard the iconic 192 Bee Network bus.

Their latest single, ‘Additional Driver’, was inspired by a minor car accident the band had outside the Apollo last year while heading to Wales to meet Declan for a songwriting session.

And the Stockport references don’t stop there, the video was filmed on the iconic 192 bus, while the song repeatedly drops the line “should’ve got the 192”, a nod to the famous route.

On Instagram, the band said: “For the video, we thought the only option was to recreate it at the Apollo.

It’s become a favourite of ours and I hope you like it as much as we do. And remember… should’ve got the 192!”

The new single features on the band’s latest album, Songs from the Wedding Cake, which has also been released alongside their already successful single ‘Joke About Divorce.’

Formed back in 2013, Blossoms’ story began in a cramped room at bassist Charlie Salt’s grandfather’s scaffolding yard in Stockport. Even the band’s name is a nod to their roots, inspired by the Grade II-listed Blossoms pub on Buxton Road.

Since then, their success has rocketed, with their debut album becoming the UK’s highest-selling debut album of 2016. They’ve also gone on to play some of the biggest festivals around, including Glastonbury, Coachella and Reading & Leeds.
