Billy Bibby and the Wry Smiles – 4 September  

If you’re a fan of Catfish and the Bottlemen, this one is right up your street. Founding member Billy Bibby is taking over Bask for a night of live music, playing the band’s iconic debut album The Balcony in full, alongside some of their other best-known tracks. 

It’s a chance to hear one of the band’s key figures up close in a much more intimate setting than you’d usually get, with plenty of nostalgia thrown in for good measure. A solid one for fans of the old-school Catfish sound.

Charity Garden Opening – 5 & 6 September  

Trying to extend your summer as long as you possibly can? Then this one’s for you. The Bredbury Charity Garden is throwing open its gates for an afternoon of flowers, sunshine, homemade cakes and a good old-fashioned brew. 

Picture the insta reel. 400 dahlias, salvias, climbing roses and bedding plants to explore, it’s a pretty impressive garden to have a nosey around. And, naturally, there’ll be homemade tea and cakes too, basically a garden party at Buckingham Palace, but in Bredbury. 

Best of all, it’s all for a good cause. The event is part of the National Garden Scheme, which has been raising money for nursing and health charities since 1927.

Martin Kemp Back to the 80s – 10 September  

This one could be gold…. Martin Kemp, star of Spandau Ballet will be taking to the stage alongside special guests Nathan Moore of Brother Beyond and The Hassle Funk Band. 

So, get the crimpers out, dig out the neon leg warmers and prepare to go full 80s for the night. Because if you’re doing this, you might as well do it properly.

Bramhall Wellness Day – 12 September  

Bramhall is getting its very own wellness day, and it sounds like the perfect excuse to focus on yourself for a bit. 

There’ll be loads to get involved with from free yoga, barre and group PT classes to wellness treatments and mindfulness activities. You can even grab a £5 massage with Amaranth, followed by a discounted facial; honestly, it’d be rude not to.

Murder Inc presents: The Last Chapter – 16 September  

If you thought book clubs were boring, think again, because Murder Inc Comedy are bringing their latest ridiculous yet hilarious murder mystery comedy to Stockport’s Thread – and it’s a novel concept. 

The North’s finest improvisers and actors return to this Stopfordian bar for a proper interactive comedy experience. It’s a two-hour show with two intervals, so there’s plenty of time to grab a pint of Thread’s finest Belgian beer in between the laughs.
