Stockport County Play off Final - Mike Petch

Best places to watch the play-off final

May 23rd 2026

Anticipation and excitement around the playoff final is palpable as tomorrow’s game against Bolton Wanderers draws tantalisingly close.

County’s recent form against Wanderers sees them unbeaten in five, but this is a Wimbley play-off final, anything can happen and it’s all to play for.

Making the journey to Wembley isn’t possible for everyone, so if you’re looking to soak up the atmosphere of the play off final here in Stockport, and see if County make it back into the Championship, then we’ve provided a roundup of the best places around Stopford Park to take in the game.

Edgerley Park 1883 Suite

If you’re a die-hard County fan, this is probably the second best to get stuck into the action.  The club will broadcast the game live on Sky Sports, in the 1883 suite. Doors will open at 11.30am on the day, with drinks flowing from the start! Don’t worry, we won’t be judging. They’ll be food available throughout the afternoon.

The Armoury

Just next door to Stopford Park and within an arm’s reach from Edgeley Park, this true Stopfordian pub boasts a massive screen, a heated covered beer garden, and an unbeatable match-day atmosphere. One of the main supporter’s pubs along with the Prince Albert, the Armoury has our pick of the locals around the ground for a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy the game.

Egerton Arms

This dedicated Craft Union pub is known for offering a fantastic stadium-like atmosphere that truly makes you feel at home.  From refreshing pints, unbeatable offers, to screens dedicated to all major football clashes, the Egerton Arms is sure to make your match day worthwhile.

The Gardeners Arms

The Gardeners Arms is much-loved local. It shows all key televised games and offers an abundance of great pub grub. It also has a buzzing beer garden to soak in the weekend rays. It’s dog friendly too if you want to bring along your pooch.

The Moor Top

For a footy fan, this is an absolute gem for watching the game. It takes one pint in here to understand why the Moor Top has a great reputation. And don’t worry if your tummy starts to rumble because The Moor Top’s menu is not short of footy scran to tackle.

The derby rarely disappoints and with promotion hanging in the balance, we expect every pub in town packed long before kick-off, so don’t forget the scarf your father wore. I-O County. County I-O.
